Medical School Scholarship Awarded
Beauregard Health System (BHS) has awarded a medical school scholarship, which is designed to defray the cost of tuition and other related expenses for attending medical school, to Sydney Meissner Brice.
Brice, a native of DeRidder, graduated from McNeese State University with a bachelor of science in chemistry and was accepted to the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Monroe, Louisiana.
"We are so happy to have the opportunity to partner with and support Sydney as she pursues her medical degree," says Traci Thibodeaux, Chief Executive Officer at BHS.
Brice is slated to graduate from medical school in 2025 and plans to attend a residency program in Internal Medicine. Upon completion of her residency, Brice will return to the area she calls home to serve the medical needs of the people of Beauregard Parish and surrounding communities.
"We look forward to having Sydney return to our community as an Internal Medicine physician," says Kelli Broocks, Chief Development and Resource Officer at BHS. "What better way to give back to the community where you grew up."
