Beauregard Health System and The Wound Treatment Center are pleased to announce their collaboration on a new facility and expansion of wound care services at Beauregard Health System. The center offers state of the art, advanced wound care and access to other wound care services, such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy, available through the affiliation with The Wound Treatment Center at Opelousas General Health System.
The center is operated by Tracy Winkley, PT, CWS, CLT, of Beauregard Health System, with Dr. Kerry Thibodeaux, MD FACS CWCP serving as Medical Director.
The Beauregard Health System Wound Healing Center will continue to offer advanced wound care to patients with acute and chronic wounds of all types and, with the expansion, will be the first in the region to offer advanced skin tissue therapies, total contact casting, access to hyperbaric oxygen therapy and more. Patients with any type of acute or chronic wound may call the center to make an appointment or may be referred by a physician.

Meet Our Team
Tracy Winkley, PT, CWS, CLT, FACCWS, DAPWCA, is a native of DeRidder. She graduated from DeRidder High School and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Louisiana Tech University. She worked as an accountant for 10 years, then she and her husband founded and operated a Therapeutic Horseback Riding facility for the handicapped in the Fort Worth area. Tracy was able to return to school to pursue her dream of becoming a physical therapist. She earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from University of Texas Southwest Medical Center in Dallas.
In 2001, she and her family moved back to DeRidder, and she has been blessed to serve our community through Beauregard Health System as a physical therapist in the inpatient, outpatient and home health departments. She has also worked for the Beauregard Parish School system and local home health agencies.
Tracy earned her certification as a Certified Wound Specialist, achieved only through a rigorous process, from the American Academy of Wound Management (AAWM). Certified Wound Specialists are an elite group of healthcare professionals involved in wound management. In March of 2016, Tracy completed an additional 135 hours of coursework to become a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. This training allows her to treat individuals with lymphedema that is often seen after cancer treatments and with chronic wounds. Tracy's expertise in these areas allow her to provide treatment for all types of acute and chronic wounds, as well as lymphedema to members our community and currently sees patients at the Beauregard Health System Wound Healing Center.
When not working, Tracy is busy with family and is an active member of Grace Church.
Kerry T. Thibodeaux, MD FACS CWSP FAPWCA, is a general and vascular surgeon who is based in Opelousas, LA. Dr. Thibodeaux, a native of St. Martinville, LA, is a graduate of Arnaudville High School in Arnaudville, LA, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Biology and Chemistry and received his Medical Degree from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association, as well as a Certified Wound Care Specialist Physician. Upon his medical school graduation, Dr. Thibodeaux fulfilled a childhood dream of serving as a general and vascular surgeon based in his childhood parish seat of St. Landry Parish, located in the region of Louisiana closest to his heart, known as Acadiana.
Dr. Thibodeaux is the founder, co-owner, and Medical Director of The Wound Treatment Center and The Wound Treatment Center Consulting. He is the former Corporate Medical Director of Wound Care for LHC Group and serves on a number of national Wound Care Advisory Boards. He is a frequent contributor to a variety of international wound care publications and is also a frequent poster publication author/co-author at the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care, an international wound care event which takes place twice annually. Dr. Thibodeaux is an internationally acclaimed wound care specialist, who is lecturer across the United States. He is the co-founder of K&M Medical Consultants, LLC, and he also serves on the Board of Trustees for Opelousas General Health System.
In his spare time, Dr. Thibodeaux is an avid hunter and outdoorsman who enjoys cooking. An amateur musician, Dr. Thibodeaux is the guitarist and singer for “Da Hurricanes,” a band he formed with friends while attending medical school. He is the proud father of Andrew and doting grandfather of Norah. Dr. Thibodeaux resides in historic Washington, LA.
