The Beauregard Health System's "Pink Ladies" and "Blue Coats" have been serving the hospital since 1980, with the goal of giving back to the hospital and community. The organization is dedicated to helping the hospital reach its focus of providing "a greater spirit of caring" to patients and visitors. Services provided by the Auxiliary members include greeting patients, guiding patients, and providing information to patients. At the front of the hospital, Auxiliary members at the Information Desk are ready to assist with patient room information and general information in regard to the hospital.
Auxiliary Gives Back
Since 1980, the Auxiliary has purchased many medical devices and equipment for the hospital. The Auxiliary Annual Bake Sale and Silent Auction is held the Thursday and Friday before Thanksgiving. All funds raised in at the bake sale and silent auction are used to purchase vital equipment for the hospital. The most recent purchases were a portable x-ray machine and a telecommunication system for the Emergency Department. In total, approximately $278,500 has been invested in medical equipment for the hospital to contribute to the well-being of patients in the community.

Applications are available online, or may be picked up in person at the information desk near the front of the hospital on Thursdays from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. If applying in person, please return all applications to the administration office. The areas of service include Emergency Room, Same Day Surgery Information Desk, Front Entrance Information Desk and Radiology. New members are always welcome.
New applicants must be 21 or older and must consent to a background check and drug test. You must be able to work at least four hours a week. All active members are required to work 75 hours each year.
After the application is received, you will meet with the President and First-Vice President for an informal interview. Your application will then be reviewed by the Auxiliary Board of Directors. If approved, a time will be set up with Human Resources for you to complete onboarding paperwork and a tuberculosis test. You will then receive your pink or blue jacket.
All Auxiliary members get free breakfast or lunch in the Dining Room on days that members work. Members also receive 25 percent off all lab work done in the hospital. This is before insurance is deducted.
Spring and fall meetings are held at the War Memorial Civic Center. Officers are elected at each fall meeting. Members will receive pins for service hours and years in the Auxiliary.
