Expertise, Care, and Unwavering Dedication
Several months ago, Theresa Coody noticed her right knee and foot turning purple, which caused immense discomfort. She was soon referred to the Beauregard Cardiology Center in DeRidder, where she met interventional cardiologists Jose Soto, MD, and later Thaddeus R. Tolleson, MD. Tests discovered a 100% blockage in her right leg, severely limiting blood flow, which could have potentially caused her to lose her leg—or even her life. This condition is known as peripheral arterial disease (PAD).
"We immediately took Mrs. Coody into the Cath Lab and placed a stent into the blockage in her right leg, instantly restoring blood flow," says Dr. Tolleson.
Supported and cared for at every step
"I can vividly recall the moment the stent was placed—it was like a switch had been flipped," Coody says. "I could immediately feel the rush of blood flowing through my leg, and the pain was gone.
"Dr. Tolleson and the team at BHS are my heroes. What truly stood out to me was the success of the procedure and the genuine care I received throughout my journey at BHS. The attention to detail, the empathy displayed by every staff member, and the genuine concern for my well-being were exemplary. I felt supported and cared for every step of the way.
"Today, I am thrilled to say that I am back to my normal routine and even walking without a cane. I am so grateful that this type of expertise is available right here in our community.
