Melissa Eubanks Awarded Nursing Scholarship at Beauregard Health System

Tuesday, December 12, 2023

Melissa Eubanks is the most recent recipient of the Beauregard Health System Nursing Scholarship which monetarily assists nursing students that plan to practice medicine at BHS. Eubanks is currently completing her 2nd level clinical classes and rotations at BHS, and will begin her 3rd level training in the Spring of 2024. She will graduate with an Associates of Science in Nursing from NSU in December of 2024 and begin working at BHS upon licensure.

“I am so very grateful and honored to be awarded the Beauregard Health System Nursing Scholarship,” said Eubanks. “It will be a great help financially to my family, especially with three in college – myself and two children! For the past two semesters, I have had the pleasure of rotating thought ICU, ER, and Med-Surg at Beauregard Health System. I have enjoyed my clinical time, observing and practicing vital nursing skills through the experienced staff at BHS. I am confident that I am a better nursing student because of those rotations and look forward to working at BHS after graduation,” Eubanks concluded.

“We strive to recruit and retain the best and brightest, and I am certain that Melissa will be a tremendous asset to our organization,” said Traci Thibodeaux, Chief Executive Officer at BHS. “I am extremely proud that BHS makes it a priority to support and promote careers in the medical field in this way.”

Eubanks future plans are to enroll in a RN to BSN program, and possibly pursue an advanced certification that will fit the needs of the community and hospital.
