Beauregard Health System is pleased to announce that Kelli C. Broocks, Chief Development and Resource Officer, has been certified as a Rural Hospital Human Resource Leader by the National Rural Health Association. The program was developed by the NRHA in conjunction with rural hospital HR leaders to ensure that next generation rural hospital HR professionals are best prepared for the unique challenges in rural communities.
Employee burnout and turnover, frequent regulation and policy changes and a shortage of resources are just a few of the everyday obstacles faced by rural hospital HR leaders. The eight month course covered leadership, employee relations, recruitment and retention, labor laws and regulations, staff and organizational development, mandatory regulatory training, productivity, budgeting and employee benefits.
“Effective leadership in a rural hospital requires a unique skill set,” said Traci Thibodeaux, MHA, RHCEOC, CMPE, Chief Executive Officer of Beauregard Health System, “While Kelli wears many hats at BHS, her dedication to the HR profession is noteworthy. We are proud of her accomplishment in completing this certification program, and thankful for her continued leadership in our rural organization.”
