BEAUREGARD HEALTH SYSTEM FOUNDATION INVESTS IN NEW TECHNOLOGY TO ENHANCE EMERGENCY CARE

Tuesday, February 11, 2025

The Beauregard Health System Foundation is excited to announce the purchase of a cutting-edge CT scanner and a mobile (X-ray) unit, set to significantly improve our emergency department capabilities. This $787,000.00 investment is the Foundation’s largest acquisition to date, and is part of an ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, timely care for patients.

The new Emergency Department, now under construction, will feature a dedicated room for the Siemens Somatom go.Top Excel—a state-of-the-art CT scanner. This advanced technology will enable Beauregard Health System to provide rapid, high-precision imaging, ensuring that patients receive vital diagnoses in real time, precisely when they need them most. By streamlining the diagnostic process, this CT scanner will support faster, more accurate evaluations during emergencies, where every second truly matters.

In addition to the new CT scanner, The Foundation has also purchased the Mobilett Elara Max, mobile imaging unit. This versatile and highly advanced mobile X-ray machine will be housed in the Emergency Department, but also used throughout the hospital, bringing high-quality diagnostic capabilities directly to patients in various departments, improving access and reducing the need for patient transport.

“These upgrades are part of our broader mission to improve healthcare access and quality in our community,” said Kelli Broocks, CDO, Foundation Executive Director. “By incorporating the latest technology, we’re taking important steps toward ensuring that every patient gets the timely care they deserve.”
