Kelli Cunningham Broocks Named VP of Corporate Development for BMH

In announcing this new appointment, W.F. “Bud” Barrow II, hospital CEO stated: “Kelli has earned this promotion by consistently performing at a high level and has embraced the challenges inherent in leading three very distinct operating departments. Broocks accepted the position of Director of Public Relations at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in 1996, and served for two years before moving to Connecticut. Broocks returned to Beauregard Memorial Hospital in 2002 as the Director of Public Relations, Marketing and Physician Recruitment, and has continued to organize and direct the hospital’s public relations, marketing and recruitment efforts for the last 15 years. In 2012, she took on the role of Human Resources Director in addition to her marketing and recruitment duties, and again in 2017 took over as Director of the Education Department.
Broocks is a member of the Louisiana Society for Hospital Public Relations and Marketing where she served as a member of the Board of Directors from 2005-2013, and as the President of the Society from 2007-2008. She consistently landed top honors for Beauregard Memorial Hospital at the state level winning a number of Louisiana Hospital Association Pelican Awards including: Best External Magazine-Newsletter (2006), Best Hospital Website (2007), Best Public Relations Project for a Rural Hospital (2007), Best Hospital Advertising Project (2008), Best Single Direct Mail Piece (2009), Best Public Relations-Marketing Project for a Rural Hospital (2010), Best In-House Advertising Campaign (2011) and Best Television Advertising Campaign (2012). Broocks has also served as a member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development, and is currently a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the Imperial Calcasieu Human Resource Management Association and the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration.
Broocks is also a member of the Greater Beauregard Chamber of Commerce and served as a member of the Board of Directors from 2006-2009. She has been involved with the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life for many years, and has also served as the Professional Campaign Co-Chair for the United Way in addition to the Hospital Chair. Previous to her position at Beauregard Memorial, Broocks was an executive for a television advertising company in Connecticut and also served as the Executive Director for CASA of West Central Louisiana.
A native of DeRidder, Broocks is a 1986 graduate of DeRidder High School and a 1990 graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Journalism. Her major is in advertising, with a minor in marketing and economics. She is married to Mike Broocks and has two sons Jakob and Kalob.
