Broocks Named Chief Development and Resource Officer

Kelli Cunningham Broocks has been named Chief Development and Resource Officer for Beauregard Health System in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Broocks accepted the position of Director of Public Relations at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in 1996, and served for two years before moving to Connecticut. Broocks returned to Beauregard Memorial Hospital in 2002 as the Director of Public Relations, Marketing and Physician Recruitment, and has continued to organize and direct the hospital’s public relations, marketing and recruitment efforts for the last 19 years. In 2012, she took on the role of Human Resources Director, in addition to her marketing and recruitment duties, and again in 2017, took over as Director of the Education Department. In 2018, Broocks directed the rebranding efforts of the hospital and name change to Beauregard Health System, in an effort to support the vision of being the premier gateway to health and wellness services in the community and the primary connector to health care solutions, wherever individuals and families are best served. In 2019, Broocks was named the Executive Director of the newly formed Health System Foundation, as well as Compliance Officer. She is currently engaged in the Health System’s first capital campaign, with the amazing assistance of the volunteer Foundation Board and committee members.
As the Chief Development and Resource Officer, Broocks will be responsible for and oversee all Foundation, Marketing, Public Relations, Human Resources, Employee Health, Employee Education and Compliance functions of the Health System. “In service to Beauregard Health System, Kelli has stepped out of her comfort zone, embraced opportunities, and has consistently delivered great results,” said Traci Thibodeaux, Chief Executive Officer. “She has done excellent work in all of the areas she oversees and through her work with the Foundation, she will continue to serve Beauregard Health System and the community extremely well,” Thibodeaux added.
Broocks is a member of the Louisiana Hospital Association PR and Marketing Constituency Group, previously the Louisiana Society for Hospital Public Relations and Marketing, where she served as a member of the Board of Directors from 2005-2013, and as the President of the Society from 2007-2008. She has consistently landed top honors for Beauregard Memorial Hospital, and now Beauregard Health System at the state level winning numerous Louisiana Hospital Association Pelican Awards. Additionally, Broocks is a member of the Vizient Human Resources Leaders’ Network, the Society for Human Resource Management and the Imperial Calcasieu Human Resource Management Association.
Broocks is also a member of the Greater Beauregard Chamber of Commerce and served as a member of the Board of Directors from 2006-2009. She was involved with the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life for many years, and has also served as the Professional Campaign Co-Chair for the United Way in addition to the Hospital Chair. Previous to her position at Beauregard Health System, Broocks was an executive for a television advertising company in Connecticut and also served as the Executive Director for CASA of West Central Louisiana.
A native of DeRidder, Broocks is a 1986 graduate of DeRidder High School and a 1990 graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Journalism. Her major is in advertising, with a minor in marketing and economics. She is married to Mike Broocks and has two sons Jakob and Kalob. “I am so honored to be presented with this opportunity,” said Broocks. “It is such a privilege to work for my hometown healthcare system, and witness first hand all the good we do for the community,” Broocks concluded.
