DeRidder, LA: Built upon a 68 year old legacy of service to the people of Beauregard, Vernon and surrounding parishes, Beauregard Memorial Hospital today announced the organization’s new name: Beauregard Health System. “Beauregard Memorial Hospital becoming Beauregard Health System is reflective of both our 68 year tradition of being a faith-based, community hospital and our emergence as a progressive network of inpatient beds, ambulatory and diagnostic services, an outpatient surgery center, physician offices, and health care joint ventures. In addition, our affiliation with Doctors Hospital of Deer Creek and with national organizations such as Vizient allow us to be a gateway to creating a more connected and healthy community,” said William F. “Bud” Barrow, II, CEO of Beauregard Health System.

“We are repositioning ourselves in the community to focus on health,” said David O’Neal, Chair of Beauregard Health System. “Healthcare today is focused on Population Health Management, and that’s what we are doing.” “This is the ideal evolution of the relationship between the Service District Board and the Operating Board,” said Wade Miller, Chair of the Hospital Service District Board. Beauregard Health System currently has a medical staff of over 170 physicians, including the active medical staff, hospitalists, emergency department physicians, radiologists, pathologists and other specialty consultants.

As part of the Beauregard Health System rebranding, new hospital signage reflecting the new system identity and logo have been placed across the main campus and nearby physician clinics. The signs provide improved directional information on the hospital’s service locations while showcasing the new name and brand. “While we stand on the shoulders of the physicians and leaders who have made this day possible,” Barrow stated, “we also recognize our responsibility to a greater spirit of caring and a brighter future for the generations to follow.”
