Beauregard Health System Welcomes Dr. Hamid Alipour
Beauregard Health System is pleased to welcome Dr. Hamid Alipour, General Surgeon, as the newest member of Beauregard Physician Group. Dr. Alipour will begin practicing at Beauregard Health System in late August.
Dr. Alipour attended Kermanshah University, School of Medicine in Kermanshah, Iran, where he earned a Doctor of Medicine degree. Alipour studied at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California where he completed his general surgery internship. He then started his general surgery residency program at Stanford Health Care in Stanford, California, and completed his training at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. Prior to his residency, Dr. Alipour has also served as an Emergency Room, Primary Care, and Urgent Care Physician. He has conducted several clinical researches and has published his studies in peer reviewed journals and presented them in scientific meetings. Dr. Alipour is trained on Da Vinci robotic surgery and holds the certification to perform various operations on robotic platforms. He is a member of the following organizations: American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, American Hernia Society, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and the Iranian Medical Council.
When asked why Dr. Alipour picked General Surgery as his specialty, he stated “I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands and fixing things! During my training, I felt safe and comfortable in the operating room. It’s extremely rewarding helping patients recover from a surgical disease.” Dr. Alipour is also a private pilot, and enjoys flying in his spare time, along with spending time with his family. Dr. Alipour believes that developing community relationships is very important, and said “I was drawn to Beauregard Health System because I enjoy practicing in small communities where people know each other well. After hearing about the opportunity to establish relationships with the people at BHS and the DeRidder community, I felt it was a great fit for my family.”
