Beauregard Health System CFO Retires After 34 Years of Service
Darrell L. Kingham, CPA, has served as the Chief Financial Officer of Beauregard Health System for the last 34 years. Kingham retired on March 31, 2023, leaving a legacy of trust, integrity, kindness, friendship, and a lifetime of service to the Health System and community.
Before becoming Beauregard Health System's CFO, Kingham worked for seven years in public accounting specializing in healthcare at Broussard & Company, CPA, in Sulphur, Louisiana. In his role at BHS, Kingham oversaw financial planning and forecasting, financial analysis, accounting, auditing, budget preparations, managed care contract negotiations, charge master, regulatory compliance, investment, and tax return and Medicare and Medicaid cost report preparation. Additionally, he oversaw the Health System’s revenue cycle management, plant operations, materials management, health information management, case management, and dietary and information technology departments. “As a servant leader, Darrell has left a profound impact on our organization and community,” said Traci Thibodeaux, CEO of BHS. “He has led the finance department and other teams at BHS with a pearl of quiet wisdom and compassion for over three decades. He taught us that the strongest message and best advice could often be delivered in a whisper. His contributions to BHS are immeasurable, and we wish him the very best in his retirement.”
Darrell is a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from McNeese State University. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants, and the Lake Charles Chapter of Certified Public Accountants. Darrell has been married to his wife DeeDee for 44 years. Darrell and DeeDee attend Westside Baptist Church in Moss Bluff, where he sings in the choir, and she plays the piano. They look forward to spending more time with their daughter, Sonia, her husband, Dr. Jonathon Sossamon; grandchildren, Benjamin, Michael, and David; and son Brian and his wife Jesika.
