BMH Gears Up For Tobacco Free Campus

9/28/2017

Beauregard Memorial Hospital is committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for associates, patients, visitors, volunteers, vendors, contractors and physicians, and to maintaining a tobacco-free-environment for all. That is why on Monday, October 2, 2017, Beauregard Memorial Hospital will officially become a tobacco free campus.

Smoking and tobacco use has been clearly identified as a major cause of preventable disease and death. Allowing the use of tobacco products in and around Beauregard Memorial Hospital’s campus and physician offices does not portray the image of the hospital as a health care leader in the community and does not promote a healthy environment. It is the intent of Beauregard Memorial Hospital to enact a 100% tobacco free healthcare campus.

Beauregard Memorial Hospital has been preparing for months for this kickoff and has identified procedures for patients and visitors, as well as associates. The hospital has provided and will continue to provide smoking cessation resources to patients, visitors and associates. If you are a smoker, quitting can be the single most important step you take to protect your health and the health of your loved ones. Smoking causes immediate damage to your body, and it threatens your future with increased risk of cancer, heart attack, lung disease and early death.

Join Beauregard Memorial Hospital as we go tobacco-free, and set your date to quit using tobacco products. Just as every successful goal starts with planning and preparation, so too does quitting. Team up with Beauregard Memorial Hospital, friends, family and coworkers for encouragement. Smokers who have support are more likely to quit for good.
