BMH implementing Electronic Health Record System
Delivering the Newest Technology for Our Community
With patient care and safety as top priorities, Beauregard Memorial Hospital will soon implement Medsphere’s OpenVista electronic health records (EHR) solution.
Since 1950, BMH has been providing quality care to members of the Beauregard Parish and surrounding communities. The implementation of EHR’s paperless system will continue this tradition of excellence by increasing the safety and quality of patient care through proven and sound technologies.
“BMH proves that any hospital in the U.S. can rapidly implement, and meaningfully use, an enterprise EHR,” says Ted Badger, FACHE, CEO of BMH.
“As one of many small, rural hospitals in the United States, we are excited to demonstrate how a healthcare facility of our size can coordinate and fully implement an electronic health record system.”
Meeting the Needs of the Future The system, which is scheduled to deploy in June 2010, will be tailored to the
specific needs of the hospital.
“The opportunity to expand the way we provide care, with greater safety and efficiency, is just one of the reasons we decided to implement an EHR,” says Vivienne
Miles, Operations Analyst at BMH. “In the future, EHRs will provide physicians the ability to share information and consult with other specialists, even from hundreds of
miles away—this is the real promise of EHR.”
