Benefits Offered to BMH Associates
Medical Health Insurance
Offered to all full-time and part-time associates. Associates become eligible for the insurance following 3 months of full-time or part-time employment.
Rates
Self - $26.00 per pay period
Self/Dep - $62.00 per pay period
Family - $77.00 per pay period
Dental Insurance
Offered to all full-time and part-time associates. Associates become eligible for the insurance following 3 months of full-time or part-time employment.
Rates
Self - $11.00 per pay period
Family - $25.00 per pay period
Life Insurance
BMH pays for $10,000 on all employees who enrolls in the health insurance. Additional Life insurance is offered to all full-time and part-time associates. Associates become eligible for the insurance following 3 months of full-time or part-time employment. The additional life insurance is based on your age.
Short Term Disability
Offered to all full-time and part-time associates. Associates become eligible for the insurance following 3 months of full-time or part-time employment. BMH associates have the option of electing one of two plans. Plan 1 begins payment after 7 days of being off of work and Plan 2 begins payment after 15 days of being off of work. Both plans will pay 60% of an associate’s salary while out on disability. This is based on the associate’s salary and age.
Long Term Disability
Offered to all full-time and part-time associates. Associates become eligible for the insurance following 3 months of full-time or part-time employment. BMH pays for the first 30% of the benefits paid under this plan. Associates have the option of a buy up plan for an additional 20% of wages. This would result in associates receiving 50% of wages should their long term disability insurance begin paying. The additional buy up is based on salary and age of the associate.
Tax Deferred Annuity (403B)
To help associates supplement their retirement income, this voluntary plan permits all associates to defer up to 20% of their earnings on a pre-tax basis to a savings plan.
Retirement Plan (401K)
The hospital provides a retirement plan for full-time and part-time associates that have completed one year of service and have attained the age of 21. The hospital will make contributions of 5% of your compensation to an account in the associate’s name. The associate is required to contribute 3% of their compensation with an option to making an additional voluntary contribution of up to 10% of their income.
Credit Union
All associates are eligible to participate in the credit union. Rapides Federal Credit Union, through Rapides General Hospital, operates it. Deposits can be made through payroll deduction. If you should leave BMH, you can still maintain your accounts with the Credit Union.
Tuition Assistance
Tuition reimbursement is available to a full-time (minimum of 32 hours per week) associate who has been employed for six months prior to enrolling in a coarse for which reimbursement is requested. An associate must meet certain eligibility requirements for reimbursement to be granted.
Scholarship Program
Scholarships are available to students enrolled in a degree program of an accredited college or university with emphasis on a nursing or allied health care program or other designated areas in pursuit of an LPN, RN, Bachelors of Science or graduate education contingent upon the needs as determined by Beauregard Memorial Hospital. Scholarships are subject to certain eligibility requirements. BMH grants scholarships up to $2,000 per semester/quarter for a student not to exceed documented expenses for tuition, books and supplies for all degrees. A full-time associate of BMH will receive $1,000 per semester/quarter not to exceed documented expenses for tuition, books and supplies for all degrees.
Sick Leave
It is based on 80 hours worked. Each associate accrues 3.69 hours per pay period or 12 days annually.
Vacation
It is based on 80 hours worked. It includes the holidays.

1 – 4.99 5.54 hrs/pay period per 80 hrs worked – 18 days annually
Years of Service
5 – 9.99 6.46 hrs/pay period per 80 hrs worked – 21 days annually
Years of Service
10 – 14.99 7.38 hrs/pay period per 80 hrs worked – 24 days annually
Years of Service
15+ 8.62 hrs/pay period per 80 hrs worked – 28 days annually
Holidays
Holidays include New Year’s Day, Good Friday, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Birthday, and Personal Day. BMH has holiday pay for those associates who are needed to work on holidays.
Jury Duty
A full-time associate who is absent from scheduled work because of jury duty will be paid his/her regular salary. The notice of call to jury duty and the certificate awarded to jurors by the court must be presented to the department supervisor.
Bereavement
A maximum of 3 days leave with pay may be given to full-time associates who must be away from duty due to death in the immediate family. Members of the immediate family are interpreted to be: father, mother, brother, sister, husband, wife, child, father-in-law, and mother-in-law
Shift Differential
Shift differential pay varies and is based on the job level being performed. The Human Resources Department will explain in detail during the hiring process.
Other Benefits
Beauregard Memorial Hospital offers several other benefits to its employees including flu vaccine, blood pressure checks, and height and weight checks.
Cafeteria Discount
Associates may purchase meals at a discount. The cafeteria is closed at 1:30 each afternoon for the day and is closed on weekends.
Service Awards
Beauregard Memorial Hospital provides an annual luncheon and recognizes employees for their dedication to BMH in 5 year increments. Employee of the year is recognized during this luncheon.
BMH has the Shining Star award that is offered to associates who go above and beyond the scope of their job duties. These associates’ names are turned in anonymously.
BMH has an employee of the month award. An associate is chosen each month and receives a party where they are presented with a certificate and bonus.
